Fuse Friendship Program

The Fuse Friendship Program provides opportunities for volunteer mentors to build friendships with people from refugee backgrounds ('mentees') who are settling into Adelaide.  Mentors provide friendship and support to their mentees, and participate in a variety of activities such as:

  • sharing a meal
  • practising English
  • walking in the park or going to the beach
  • talking about Australian culture and customs
  • helping them understand and get connected to relevant community services

Just 6 hours per month can make a huge difference in their lives - and enrich your own!

To apply to be a Fuse Mentor you need to be over 22 years old, and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.  Free, fun and interactive training is provided.  To request an application form please email the Fuse Program Coordinator, Bryan Hughes:
