Dylan was 15 and barely going to school when he was referred to our Tumbelin Alcohol and Other Drug Adventure Therapy program.
The team worked intensively with Dylan and he responded to the people and to the life-changing program experiences – like scaling a 40 metre cliff despite being scared of heights!
Dylan’s achievements helped him realise what he was capable of and he was inspired to change his life.
Today, Dylan has a home and a great future ahead of him. He’s now a young man who is confident enough to act and help create change. He’s even written to, and met with, his local MP to discuss the lack of support for homeless young people.
His amazing progress has led him to enrol in a Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation and Community Work course with TAFE SA.
Once he’s graduated Dylan would like to return to the Tumbelin program as a peer mentor.
“I’d be able to share what I’ve been through,” he says. “And encourage (others) to just never ever give up.”
