Adventure Services has run wilderness adventure programs for disadvantaged young people since the early 1990’s.
Our programs provide opportunities for people to actively experience controlled risk-taking, develop interpersonal skills and, through peer-support and mentoring, move onwards in their life journey.
Client Groups:
For CORE programs:
Disadvantaged and/or at-risk young people aged 13 to 24, and “older” young people aged 25
Disadvantage can arise from family breakdown and/or dysfunction, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, other significant personal traumas, living in poverty, and combinations of these experiences and situations.
We acknowledge that these histories are often compounded by experiences of homelessness, lack of education, unemployment, mental health issues, drug and alcohol dependence, criminal activity, domestic violence, isolation, and marginalisation.
These and other factors can place people at-risk of:
coming into and/or experiencing contact with drugs and alcohol
coming into and/or experiencing contact with the justice system
disengaging from mainstream society and services.
Eligible people can refer themselves or be referred to our CORE programs – feel free to contact us to register and/or make a booking.
